Setting up data transfer from devices
To work with the Track & Trace API, couriers must send their order status and current location data.
The API supports sending data through the app or GPS tracker .
App
The actual data from the Yandex Courier mobile app is sent automatically after the route is selected.
Enabling access for couriers:
To grant couriers access to the Yandex Courier app:
- Go to the routing workspace interface https://yandex.com/courier and log into your company's account.
- In the menu on the left, go to.
- Add the couriers' phone numbers in the format “+1**********”.
Instructions and a video tutorial for the app are available in Yandex Courier application.
GPS tracker
Actual data from the GPS tracker is sent using the ERA GLONASS Telematics Standard pursuant to order No. 285 (EGTS) of the Russian Ministry of Transport. Data from the GPS tracker must be sent in real time.
Configuration requirements:
Protocol: | EGTS |
Server address: | egts.yandex.net |
TCP port: | 4000 |
Device ID: | Number set by the device owner |
Frequency of sending location data, in motion: | Every 20 seconds |
Frequency of sending location data, not in motion: | Every 120 seconds |
Maximum location data sending delay: | 24 hours |

Notes:
Devices are identified by a “terminal ID”: a number set by the device owner and sent in the EGTS service data. The API only supports numeric IDs and IMEIs. The IMEI number consists of 15–17 digits. To avoid linking the device ID to the IMEI number, we recommend specifying the IMEI number when planning.
- The unique TID is specified in the device documentation. The TID is considered equal to the IMEI number if the
EGTS_SR_TERM_IDENTITY
package with the TID-IMEI link wasn't sent. - The device ID, TID, and GPRS module IMEI are different numbers.
The system ignores location messages with a time delay of more than one day.
- EGTS authorization isn't supported.
How to check data transfer
- Prepare the Excel file with the route: on the Vehicles sheet, add a GPS tracker number (
imei
) column. There must be at least one order in the route. - In the GPS tracker number column, specify the device IMEI number.
- Upload the Excel file with the route to Track & Trace.
- In the routing workspace, open and select the courier with the GPS tracker.
- In the window with courier data, you will see the GPS tracker number field with the IMEI. Make sure that you receive the courier's location data.
If you couldn't set up the data transfer via the GPS tracker, contact support.
