Setting up data transfer from devices

To work with the Track & Trace API, couriers must send their order status and current location data. The API supports sending data through the app or a GPS device.

  1. Through the Yandex Courier mobile app
  2. From GPS devices

Through the Yandex Courier mobile app

If GPS confirmation of delivery is done via the Yandex Courier app, you can leave the IMEI field empty. The actual data from the mobile app is sent to Yandex automatically after the route is chosen.

Enabling access for couriers:

To grant couriers access to the Yandex Courier app:

  1. Go to the routing workspace interface https://yandex.com/courier and log into your company's account.
  2. In the menu on the left, select Settings → Mobile app.
  3. Add the couriers' phone numbers in the “+7**********” format.

Instructions and a video tutorial for the app are available in the Yandex Courier application.

From GPS devices

Actual data from GPS devices is sent via the ERA GLONASS Telematics Standard in compliance with order No. 285 (EGTS) of the Russian Ministry of Transport. Data from devices must be sent in real time.

Device configuration requirements:

Server address: egts.yandex.net
TCP port: 4000
Device ID: Number set by the device owner
Frequency of sending location data, in motion: Every 20 seconds
Frequency of sending location data, not in motion: Every 120 seconds

Notes:

  • Devices are identified by a so-called “terminal ID”, a number set by the device owner and sent in the EGTS service data. The device ID and GPRS module IMEI are different numbers. The IMEI consists of 15 to 17 digits in decimal format. The API only supports numeric IDs and IMEIs.

  • The system ignores location messages with a time delay of more than one day.
